Mount Marty Football to Honor Yankton Contact Center's 50th Anniversary and Recognize Yankton Police Department During October 4 Game

YANKTON, S.D. – Mount Marty University and Lancer Athletics are excited to announce a special community-focused game day at Crane-Youngworth Field on Saturday, October 4, as the Lancers take on Concordia University. The day will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Yankton Contact Center and also recognize the Yankton Police Department as part of Faith & Blue Weekend.

The spotlight will shine first on the Yankton Contact Center, a vital nonprofit organization that for 50 years has lived its mission of Feeding People, Stabilizing Lives, and Connecting Community. Fans are encouraged to support the "Sack Local Hunger" food drive by bringing non-perishable items to the game. Each donated item earns fans a chance to win gift cards from local businesses. Food drive winners will be announced at halftime. In addition, all proceeds from the game's 50/50 raffle will benefit the Contact Center, with the winning ticket drawn at the end of the third quarter.

At halftime, the Contact Center will also be formally recognized for its service and impact, and volunteers, donors, and supporters will be honored for their dedication to helping neighbors in need.

The game will also feature Faith & Blue Weekend in partnership with the Yankton Police Department. Faith & Blue is a nationwide initiative that brings law enforcement together with faith-based organizations, businesses, and residents to build stronger, safer communities. Mount Marty and the Yankton community are proud to host the YPD and thank them for their service and commitment.

"This is going to be an exciting game on the field, but it's also a special opportunity to celebrate what makes Yankton such a strong and connected community," said Andy Bernatow, Mount Marty University Athletics Director. "Both the Yankton Contact Center and the Yankton Police Department embody the spirit of servant leadership, community, and hospitality. We are proud to honor their impact and welcome the community to a day of connection, service, and celebration."

Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Crane-Youngworth Field. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, bring food donations, and join the Lancers in celebrating two organizations that make Yankton stronger.
