Mount Marty wrapped up its weekend with Doane University on Sunday afternoon. Mount Marty lost the first game 7-8, but won the second game 20-13. Mount Marty is now 30-11 overall and 13-7 in GPAC play. Doane is now 27-9 overall and 13-5 in GPAC play. After his 8th inning home run

Game OneÂ
Mount Marty fell to Doane University 8-7 on Sunday on the final play of the game. Â Doane University was down 7-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning when #2 doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.
The Lancers collected eight hits and Doane University had nine in the high-scoring affair.
Doane University opened up scoring in the first inning, when #38 tripled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Jared Miller was on the pitcher's mound for MMU, Miller lasted six innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking one. Â
Zane Pollon threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
MMU socked two home runs on the day.
Caid Koletzky went yard in the fifth inning.
Billy Hancock had a long ball in the seventh inning.

Game TwoÂ
Six runs batted in from
Bodi Wallar helped lead MMUÂ past Doane University 20-13 on Sunday. Â Wallar drove in runs on a sacrifice fly in the first, a home run in the fifth, and a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Mount Marty collected 15 hits and Doane University 18 in the high-scoring affair
The Lancers got on the board in the first inning when Wallar's sac fly scored one run for 2023 Mount Marty Varsity.
MMU scored five runs in the fifth inning. Â The offensive onslaught came from a single by
Josh Mares and a home run by Wallar.
Chris Rofe was the winning pitcher for MMU, The righty allowed 12 hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out seven. Â
Jett Hasegawa and
Noah McCandless entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Lancers smacked five home runs on the day.
Billy Hancock went yard in the third and eighth innings where he became the home run king at Mount Marty. Wallar had a long ball in the fifth inning.
Zane Salley had a homer in the third inning.
Kiko Nunez put one out in the eighth inning.
The Lancers tallied 15 hits on the day.  Hancock, Nunez, Mares,
Braeden Cordes, and Wallar all had multiple hits for MMU.  Hancock went 4-for-6 at the plate to lead Mount Marty in hits.

Mount Marty will travel to Sioux Center, IA on Friday April 21st. MMU will play Dordt in a two game set. Mount Marty will return home on April 23rd to faceoff with the University of Jamestown.Â
