Mount Marty Baseball Earns Ninth Consecutive ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award
YANKTON, S.D. — For the ninth year in a row, the Mount Marty University baseball program has proven its strength both on the diamond and in the classroom.
On Wednesday, the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) officially announced the recipients of the 2025–26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack. Mount Marty earned the prestigious national honor after posting an impressive 3.46 cumulative team GPA over the course of the academic year.
Excellence as a Standard
Maintaining a high academic standard while navigating a demanding collegiate athletic schedule is no small task, but the Lancers have turned classroom excellence into a sustained culture. To qualify for the honor, programs must maintain a minimum cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the full academic year, while being led by an ABCA-member head coach.
Mount Marty comfortably surpassed that threshold with their 3.46 mark, cementing nearly a decade of continuous academic recognition.
Joining Elite Company
Mount Marty is part of a select group of high-performing programs highlighted in this year's release. Across the nation, fewer than 500 college baseball programs—spanning all divisions—met the rigorous academic criteria required by the ABCA.
