Yankton, SD, January 4, 2023 - Mount Marty University proudly announces the unveiling of a video display board in Laddie E. Cimpl Arena, marking a significant enhancement to the athletic and event experience.
The newly installed video display board, situated prominently within the university's Cimpl Arena, is a testament to Mount Marty's commitment to fostering technological innovation and providing an enriched environment for athletes, fans, and event attendees.
The video display is a Varsity Scoreboard product that measures 13' by 8' feet with high-resolution LED technology. The video display will serve as a focal point during athletic events in Cimpl Arena, enriching the spectator experience with vibrant visuals, dynamic content, and real-time information. This addition will elevate the atmosphere for volleyball and basketball games.
"We're thrilled to introduce the video display board to Cimpl Arena," expressed Andy Bernatow, Athletic Director at Mount Marty University. "To create this new opportunity, we had several areas at the institution do an outstanding job working together. I am very appreciative of the efforts of Derrik Nelson and Molly Hanse from the Sports Information Department, Casey Reifenrath and Bryce Rossman, and the entire Facilities Department, along with Becky McCune, Tom Bartkus, and Neil Leitru from the Information Technology Department at Mount Marty. They were instrumental in getting this project completed. I am also thankful for Blake Munger, the sales consultant from Varsity Scoreboards, as his experience and knowledge were beneficial throughout the process of selection and installation of the video display. We are also fortunate to have received support from the Yankton Community and Lancer Nation, as their support aided in the funding of the project, with funding coming from the Lancer Club, KYNT-MMU Athletics Marketing Sponsors, and the Yankton Area Foundation. This advancement aligns with our ongoing efforts to enhance the overall experience for our athletes, fans, and the entire Mount Marty community. The video display board will serve as a hub for delivering engaging content and creating an electrifying atmosphere during athletic competitions and various events hosted within the Laddie E. Cimpl Arena."
The board's versatile functionality will allow it to display a myriad of content, including live game feeds, instant replays, sponsor recognition, and engaging graphics. Its adaptability ensures it will be an invaluable asset, catering to the diverse needs of athletic events, ceremonies, and other gatherings hosted in the Cimpl Arena.
Mount Marty University remains dedicated to resources and technologies that bolster student engagement and elevate the overall campus experience. The MMU Athletic Department has several more projects in the near future, including an update to the Mount Marty Athletics Hall of Fame Wall and a new camera system to live stream track and field meets and events in the First Dakota Ruth Donohue Fieldhouse.
