Mount Marty Men's Golf Wraps Up Strong Showing at GPAC Spring Qualifier
Orange City, IA. – The Mount Marty University men's golf team capped off a competitive outing at the Raider Spring Invite this week, highlighted by a top-five individual finish from standout Wout Kerkhofs.
Kerkhofs turned in a stellar performance over two rounds, firing an impressive 3-under 69 on Day 1 and finishing with a 5-over 77 on Day 2. His combined total of 146 (+2) earned him a tie for 5th place overall in a field packed with top regional talent.
Also making solid contributions for the Lancers was Ted Bengston, who carded rounds of 74 and 75 to finish at +5, tied for 13th individually. Lane Tvedt followed closely behind with a total score of 154 (+10), landing in a tie for 30th. Rounding out the team, Hunter Bailey posted a two-day total of 156 (+12), while Jimmie Cunningham finished at +15.
Mount Marty showed promising consistency and competitiveness across the board, building momentum as the team eyes postseason play.
Northwestern (IA) dominated the team leaderboard, with three players tying for first individually at -4 and placing multiple golfers in the top ten.
The Lancers look to carry this momentum forward into their next tournament as they continue their spring season.
Up Next Mount Marty will compete in the GPAC Championships which will take place in Beatrice, NE on April 21st and 22nd.
