The Lancer track and field teams competed at the Northwestern Red Raider Open & Multi's on April 16-17, and the Kansas Relays on April 17. At the conclusion of the meets, the Lancers came away with three event titles.
At the Red Raider Open & Multi's, freshman Marc Jonathan Van Lien won the decathlon with 6,196 points. Van Lien won four of the ten events (1500, 110H, Pole Vault, and Long Jump). Senior Luke Rettedal won the shot put with a throw of 56' 4". Rettedal's throw ranks 5th in the NAIA and 1st in the GPAC.
Sophomore Mya Zohner won the pole vault with a vault of 11' 11.75".
Sophomore Cooper Grotenhuis represented the Lancers at the Kansas Relays by competing in the triple jump, finishing 18th (42' 9.5").
The Lancers had many additional top-8 finishes at the Northwestern Red Raider Open & Multi's and have 4 event squads ranked nationally in the top 20. They will compete next at the Drake Relays on April 23-26, the Mount Marty Twilight on April 23, and the Kip Janvrin Open on April 24-25.
