The Lancer track and field teams competed at the USD Early Bird at the Lillibridge Track Complex in Vermillion, SD and at the Concordia Invite at Walz Fieldhouse and Bulldog Stadium in Seward, NE on April 4-5. The teams produced a total of five top-three finishes.
At the Concordia Invite on the men's side, senior Luke Rettedal turned in the top performance by finishing first in the shot put (53' 6.25"). Other top-three performances came from freshman Carson Conway in the 800 (2:02.30, 3rd) and sophomore Cooper Grotenhuis in the triple jump (43' 7.25", 3rd).
At the Concordia Invite on the women's side, freshman Isabella Ramsgard turned in the top performance by finishing second in the 5,000 (20:26.73). At the USD Early Bird, junior Alexis Even turned in the top performance by finishing second in the 200 (25.49). The other top-three performance came from junior Zelie Sorensen in the 200 (25.62, 3rd).
The Lancers had many additional top-eight finishes. They will compete next at the Sioux City Relays in Sioux City, IA on April 11-12.
