Track and Field: Mya Zohner Claims All-American Status At Outdoor Championships

Championship Recap: 2025 US Marines-NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Mount Marty University concluded the 73rd Annual Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, held May 21–23, 2025, at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana, with several remarkable performances that marked a high point for the Lancer track and field program.

Sophomore Mya Zohner broke her own school record in the pole vault, clearing 3.75 meters—3 centimeters higher than her previous best. Her outstanding effort earned her a 6th place finish nationally and secured her All-American honors. Mya becomes Mount Marty's first female All-American in track and field since 2016.

Senior Luke Rettedal delivered a strong performance in the men's shot put with a throw of 16.60 meters, placing 10th overall. He missed the final round by a narrow margin of just 7 centimeters.

In the men's 4x400 meter relay, the Lancers continued their impressive tradition by qualifying for the national meet for the 9th consecutive year. While they didn't advance to finals, the streak highlights the depth and consistency of the relay program.

Looking Ahead

The athletes and coaching staff are eager to continue building on the momentum of a successful 2025 season.
