Mount Marty to Face Briar Cliff in 2025 GPAC Baseball Championship Game
Lancers and Chargers Set for Winner-Take-All Title Match on Monday in Sioux City
YANKTON, S.D. – Mount Marty University is set to compete in the 2025 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Baseball Championship Game on Monday, May 5, at 3:00 PM against Briar Cliff University. The one-game, winner-take-all final will be played at Bishop Mueller Field (W 31st St, Sioux City, IA 51103) in Sioux City, Iowa, with the GPAC's second automatic berth to the NAIA Opening Round on the line.
The seventh-seeded Lancers went unbeaten in the Morningside Bracket, defeating No. 2 seed Morningside (8–5), No. 3 Doane (10–4), and Morningside again (8–6) to secure their spot in the championship.
Briar Cliff, the No. 4 seed, emerged from the Concordia Bracket in Seward, Nebraska. The Chargers upset No. 1 Concordia 5–4, then rebounded from a narrow Game 6 loss with a dominant 16–3 victory in Game 7 to advance to the title game.
