Zohner Claims All-American Honors as Lancers Compete at NAIA Outdoor National Championships
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Mount Marty University track and field teams traveled to the Karl Straus Track to compete against the nation's best at the 74th Annual NAIA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. Held on May 20-22, 2026, and hosted by Explore Asheville and Airstream Ventures, the meet saw the Lancers wrap up their outdoor season with a national podium finish and a spectacular season-best performance.
Zohner Soars to All-American Status
Highlighting the weekend for the Lancers was junior Mya Zohner in the women's pole vault. Zohner put together an elite performance on the national stage, clearing a height of 3.78 meters to secure a 7th-place finish. With her top-eight performance, Zohner earned All-American honors, standing out as Mount Marty's lone All-American recipient at this year's outdoor championships.
Men's Relay Battles for Season Best
On the men's side, the 4x400-meter relay team delivered one of the most exciting races of the prelims. The freshman-heavy squad consisting of Samuel Favaretto (Fr.), Jet Janvrin (Fr.), Zavio Prato (Jr.), and Bastien Furstoss (Fr.)clocked a blistering time of 3:12.95. The time marked a brand-new season best for the Lancer relay team. In a hyper-competitive field, they placed 21st overall, narrowly missing out on the finals and All-American honors by just three spots.

Javelin: Freshman Kellan Odell represented Mount Marty well in the field series, placing 20th in the nation with a top throw of 55.16 meters.

10,000 Meters: Senior Logan Ferrari and sophomore Joseph Cross were both scheduled to run the grueling 10,000-meter final but did not start (DNS).
With a national podium finish and strong foundations built by a young core of relay runners and throwers, the Lancers put a successful exclamation point on their 2026 outdoor campaign.
