Mount Marty University Athletics Promotes Brooke Muth to Head Athletic Trainer
YANKTON, S.D. — Mount Marty University Athletics is thrilled to announce the promotion of Brooke Muth, MS, ATC, LAT, to Head Athletic Trainer.
Muth joined the Lancer athletic training staff prior to the 2023–24 academic year, primarily supporting the soccer, women's basketball, and softball programs. In her new leadership role as Head Athletic Trainer, she will oversee sports medicine operations, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and clinical care across all of our varsity sports programs operating out of the Ruth Donohoe Fieldhouse.

"Her passion for sports medicine and strong leadership approach will ensure our athletic training department continues to provide top-tier care across all of our varsity sports programs."

Her clinical expertise, high standards of care, and dedication to Lancer Athletics make her the perfect fit to lead our sports medicine team."
Prior to her arrival at Mount Marty, Muth served as an assistant athletic trainer at Augustana University (2021–2023) covering football, baseball, and swimming. During her time with the Vikings, she implemented movement assessments, rehabilitation programs, and injury-prevention strategies, earning the 2022 South Dakota Athletic Training Association Iron Will Award. She also provided medical coverage for prominent collegiate postseason events, including the 2023 NCAA Division II Baseball World Series, the Augie Swim Invitational, and the Augie XC Twilight Invitational.
Muth began her professional clinical career at Dordt University in the fall of 2020, covering volleyball, cross country, and track & field, including the 2020 GPAC XC Championship. Across both Dordt and Augustana, she was instrumental in managing health protocols, athlete testing, and return-to-play procedures.
A native of the region, Muth earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) from Augustana University in 2020 following a graduate internship with football, swimming, and baseball, where she was also awarded the Dr. Jeffrey Behrens Scholarship. She completed her B.A. in Exercise Science at Augustana in 2018, where she was a four-year member of the CIVITAS Honors Program and competed as a student-athlete on the women's soccer team.
Muth is BOC-certified and licensed in South Dakota and Iowa. She maintains certifications in Dry Needling (Level 1), Blood Flow Restriction (Owens Recovery Science Institute), Mental Health First Aid (National Council for Mental Wellbeing), and CPR/AED (American Heart Association), and is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
