Mount Marty University Student-Athletes Recognized for Academic and Athletic Excellence in 2025–26 NAIA Scholar-Team Honors

YANKTON, S.D. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released its official Scholar-Team academic honorees for the 2025–26 academic year. Mount Marty University is proud to announce that 19 Lancer athletic teams earned this prestigious national designation by maintaining a cumulative team grade point average (GPA) above the required 3.0 threshold. Additionally, while not an NAIA-sponsored sport, the Archery team also achieved a 3.25 team GPA, marking the third consecutive year in which all Lancer athletic programs achieved over a 3.0 GPA

Leading the charge in the classroom for Mount Marty was the Women's Volleyball team, which achieved the highest GPA among all Lancer athletic programs with an impressive 3.85 cumulative GPA. The Women's Golf and Women's Tennis squads followed closely behind, recording GPAs of 3.82 and 3.81, respectively.

On the men's side, the Baseball team posted the top academic performance with a 3.51 cumulative GPA, closely trailed by Men's Soccer (3.50), Men's Basketball (3.50), and Men's Tennis (3.49).

To qualify as an NAIA Scholar-Team, a varsity team must achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for all eligible student-athletes on the roster throughout the academic year.
