Yankton, SD – The Mount Marty Track & Field Teams hosted the Mount Marty Opener Meet this Saturday. The teams that competed in this meet were Augustana University, Briar Cliff University, Dakota State University, Iowa Western Community College, and the University of Sioux Falls. Between the Men's and Women's teams, the Lancers had a total of 12 events take first place.

Men's Track & Field
The Men's Track and Field team had 16 events placing in the Top 5 at the Mount Marty Opener with four individual events taking first place. Marcus Jnofinn ran a 6.88 in the 60m dash to take first place. The 400m dash was won by Donovan Breckenridge with a time of 50.35. Mason Schleis hit a height of 4.40 meters to take first in the pole vault.
The Lancers also had two relays take first place. MMU won the 4x400 with a time of 3:28.81 to take first. This relay was run by Seth Wiebelhaus, Michael Beyer, Isaac Hegdahl, and Donovan Breckenridge. The 4x800 (8:19.67) also took first and was run by Jacob Kueny, Caden Ideker, Tague Tvedt, and Liam Vidas.

Women's Track & Field
The Women's Track and Field team had 17 events place in the Top 5 at the meet, with six events taking first place. Calli Davis took first place in both the 200m dash and the 400m dash. Davis hit an NAIA 'B' qualifying mark in the 400m after running it in 59.16. Gracie Rippen won the Pole Vault with a height of 3.42m. This mark gave Rippen an NAIA 'B' qualifying mark. Andrea Sucha took first place in the high jump after hitting 1.61m. Lexa Burtzlaff won the triple jump with a jump of 10.60m.
The 4x400 relay also took place for MMU with a time of 4:13.78. This was run by Lexa Burtzlaff, Ashinee George, Tianna Bumbaca-Kuehl, and Taylor Hinojosa.

The Track and Field teams will be traveling up to Brookings, SD, this Friday to compete in the SDSU D2 Open. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM. The teams will be back home on January 27th & 28th.
