Mount Marty turned in one of its strongest performances of the outdoor season at the Drake Relays, highlighted by two school records, strong relay showings, and standout distance performances against elite competition.
Sophomore Joseph Cross delivered one of the top performances of the meet for the Lancers, racing to a personal-best and school record 30:21.75 in the 10,000 meters. Cross placed 7thin the invitational event.
Senior Logan Ferrari also had a strong showing in Des Moines, placing himself at the top of the team's 5,000-meter list with a season-best 14:41.77. Ferrari placed 8th overall.
The men's sprint medley relay team of Austin Gobel, Samuel Favaretto, Bastien Furstoss, and Drake Nemetz turned in an outstanding performance, clocking a new school record 3:30.20. The Lancers won their heat and placed 5th overall.
In the 4x400 relay, Zelie Sorensen, Alexis Even, Whitney Wollberg, and Josey Wahlstrom turned in a season best 3:55.71.
The Drake Relays once again provided Mount Marty with an opportunity to compete against some of the region's top programs, and the Lancers responded with some championship-level efforts, personal bests, and momentum heading into the final stretch of the outdoor season.
