Lancers Finish at Top 5 in GPAC Championships

Men finish 4th, Women finish 5th

Seward, Neb. -- The Men's and Women's Track & Field team competed in the GPAC Indoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend. The Men's Team took fourth place with 81 points and had four four conference champions. Mount Marty had a total of 31 performances land in the Top 8, with 28 of them receiving GPAC All-Conference honors. The teams also had four performances hit NAIA 'A' marks to qualify for the NAIA Championships, six NAIA 'B' marks, and one provisional mark. 

Meet Results 

Men's Team
The Men's T&F Team placed fourth and had four conference champions, 15 performances get GPAC All-Conference Honors, one new school record, and 16 performances land in the Top 8.

Marcus Jnofinn is now the back-to-back 60m GPAC Champion after taking first with a time of 6.81. Donovan Breckenridge took first place in the 200m with a time of 21.95. Breckenridge also placed 8th in the 60m, 4th in the 400m, and was the starting leg in the 4x400 that took 5th place. The 4x800, ran by Jacob Kueny, Caden Ideker, Liam Vidas, and Tague Tvedt, took first place.

The Men's Team had a great showing in the Heptathlon, with Mason Schleis taking first place, Seth Wiebelhaus finishing second, and Michael Beyer placing sixth. 

To receive All-Conference Honors, the athlete needs to place in the Top 8, or the relay needs to finish in the Top 3.

Women's Team
The Women's Team finished 5th with 63 points. This is the best finish and point total that the Women's team has had at the GPAC Championships. The team had 13 performances get All-Conference honors, two new school records, three NAIA B marks, one provisional mark, and had 15 performances make the Top 8. 

Elianna Clark set a new school record and placed third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.84. Ashinee George placed third and set a new school record in the 60m Hurdles after running it in 9.00. That time also was an NAIA 'B' mark. The Lancers also had a school first when three different athletes competed in the 60m dash finals, going 2-6-8.

The highest place that was landed for the women's team was second place. Calli Davis took second in the 200m dash and hit a provisional mark with a 25.88 time. Andrea Sucha took second place in the high jump after hitting a mark of 1.59m. 

To receive All-Conference Honors, the athlete needs to place in the Top 8, or the relay needs to finish in the Top 3.
