It's conference championship week for the Lancer track and field teams as they prepare for the 2025 GPAC Indoor Championships at Dakota Wesleyan University at the DWU/Avera Sports and Wellness Complex in Mitchell, SD on February 14-15.
The Lancers have eight returning athletes who earned All-GPAC honors at last year's indoor championships.
Senior Luke Rettedal is the only returning GPAC indoor champion for the Lancers. Rettedal is the defending champion in the shot put and the GPAC leader in the event. Senior Logan Ferrari is also the GPAC leader in the 3,000 and the 5,000. Sophomore Zavio Prato has the fastest entry in the 400.
The men look to improve their fourth-place finish from last year while the women look to improve their eighth-place finish. Heading into the meet, the men are ranked fifth, the women are ranked sixth, and the teams have a total of seven event squads nationally ranked in the top 20.
Action kicks off February 14, at 1 p.m. with the pentathlon. The meet will be live streamed on DWU's YouTube channel, and live results will be available on Black Squirrel Timing.
