Strong Performances Highlight Lancers at Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational
LINCOLN, Neb. — The Lancers turned in a series of standout performances at the 50th Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, highlighted by personal bests and a new school record.
In the women's field events, the Lancers made an impact in the pole vault. Mya Zohner cleared a new personal-best 3.78 meters to set a new school record, with Paige Clausen finishing close behind in a new indoor personal best at 3.63 meters.
On the track, Alexis Even ran a personal best 58.80 in the 400 meters, while Whitney Wollberg continued her strong freshman season with a PR 26.98 in the 200 meters and a 59.23 split on the 4 x 400 relay.
On the men's side, Tague Tvedt led the way with a pair of breakthrough performances in the 800 meters, setting a personal-best 1:58.38 in the event. Tvedt also added a PR effort in the mile, finishing in 4:29.00, continuing a strong indoor campaign.
The Lancer sprinters had a strong showing in the men's 4x400-meter relay, running a 3:19.77 and setting a new season best for the quartet of Prato, Carl Massa, Jet Janvrin, and Bastien Furstoss. Prato clocked a 49.8 seconds leadoff leg on the relay while Carl Massa turned in a season best 49.5 split to pace the quartet.
Freshman Drake Nemetz impressed in the middle distances, recording a personal-best 1:23.00 in the 600 meters.
Overall, the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational served as another strong measuring stick for the Lancers as they continue to stack personal bests and competitive finishes heading into the heart of the indoor season.
