Lancers Shine at GPAC Indoor Championships: Ferrari Sets Record, Vaulting Duo Soars
Sioux Center, IA– The Mount Marty Lancers traveled to the GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, putting together a high-intensity performance against the region's best. Highlighted by a meet record from Logan Ferrari and a podium-heavy showing in the vertical jumps and multis, the Lancer men secured a 5th-place team finish, while the women took 8th overall.

The Lancer men tallied 67 points to secure a top-five finish in a competitive field led by Doane.

Distance Dominance: Logan Ferrari was the story of the weekend. Ferrari captured the GPAC title in the 5000m, setting a new Meet Record with a time of 14:51.84 (NAIA Prov). He didn't stop there, taking 2nd place in the 3000m (8:42.40) and adding a 7th-place finish in the 1 Mile, accounting for 20 of the team's points. Teammate Joseph Cross provided a powerful secondary punch, placing 4th in the 5000m and 7th in the 3000m.

Multi's: Jonathan van Lien put on a masterclass in versatility during the Heptathlon. Van Lien won the Heptathlon Long Jump (6.79m) and secured 2nd place finishes in the Hep 60m Hurdles, High Jump, Pole Vault, and 1000m run. Michael Beyer also showcased his range, placing 5th in the Hep 1000m and 3rd in the Hep 60m Hurdles.

Track & Relays: Osiel Cantu delivered a podium performance in the 60m Hurdles, finishing 4th in the finals with a time of 8.46. On the relay side, the 4x400m squad (Prato, Janvrin, Favaretto, Furstoss) blazed to a 2nd-place finish (3:23.31), while the 4x800m team secured 6th.

Vertical Jumps: The Lancers soared to 12.5 points in the Pole Vault. Mya Zohner cleared 3.75m (12-03.50) to take 2nd place. Paige Clausen followed closely, clearing 3.40m to take 4th place. Freshman Whitney Wollberg also cleared 3.10m to finish 11th.

Sprint Speed: Zelie Sorensen led the charge on the track, qualifying for the finals in both the 60m and 200m. She placed 6th in the 60m Dash (7.75) and 7th in the 200m (25.62). Alexis Even just missed the finals but posted a strong 9th-place finish in the 60m and 10th in the 200m.
- Multi-Events & Relays: Josey Wahlstrom proved her endurance in the Pentathlon, finishing 2nd in the Pentathlon 800m and 3rd in the Pentathlon High Jump. The 4x400m relay (Wollberg, Sorensen, Killinger, Wahlstrom) took 5th, and the 4x800m relay finished 7th.
