10 Event Wins and 3 School Records Highlight the Mount Marty Last Chance Meet

The Lancers closed out the regular season in impressive fashion Friday at the Mount Marty Last Chance Meet, capturing multiple event titles, posting national marks, and delivering a wave of personal best performances across the board.  Overall the Lancers had 35 season best qualifying performances, 10 event winning efforts, 3 school records, and 3 national qualifying performances.

Event Champions

The day was highlighted by dominant performances on both the track and in the field:


Sprints & Hurdles

Senior Zelie Sorensen delivered one of the top performances of the meet, winning the women's 60 meters in a personal-best 7.71, moving to NAIA #37. She later added a 200m title in 25.35.  Sorensen's time set a new school record in the 60 and 200.  Her 200 converts to an NAIA "B" standard qualifying mark.

On the men's side, sophomore Austin Gobel placed second in the 60m final (7.08) after running 7.05 in prelims and added a runner-up finish in the long jump (6.53m).

Freshman Samuel Favaretto returned after illness, winning both the 200m and 600m.

In the hurdles, Osiel Cantu finished second in the 60m hurdles final (8.61), while Hannah Killinger clocked 9.85 in the women's final.


Quarter-Mile Strength

Freshman Whitney Wollberg had a breakthrough performance in the women's 400 meters, winning in 59.02 — a personal best that ranks NAIA #60 nationally. Senior Alexis Even added a strong 59.31 runner-up finish.

The men's 400m group placed three in the top six:


Distance Dominance

The Lancers controlled the distance events:

Freshman Brenna Lyngstad added a personal best (2:36.01) in the women's 800m.


Field Event Highlights

The women's pole vault group led the way:

  • Mya Zohner – 1st, 3.90m (NAIA A, NAIA #4) - NEW SCHOOL RECORD

  • Paige Clausen – 2nd, 3.75m (NAIA A, NAIA #10)

The pair now rank among the top vaulters nationally heading into postseason competition.

In the men's pole vault, freshmen Finn Graveley (3.90m PR) and junior Braxton Moffett (3.60m PR) both cleared personal bests.

With national marks, multiple NAIA Top-60 rankings, and a long list of personal records, the Lancers carry significant momentum into championship season. The Mount Marty Last Chance Meet provided exactly what the team needed — confidence, depth, and national-level performances at the right time.
