Mount Marty Athletes Compete at 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Athletes from Mount Marty University delivered several strong performances at the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held March 5–7 at the Alachua County Sports & Event Center in Gainesville, Florida.
Leading the way for the Lancers was senior distance runner Logan Ferrari, who earned All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the men's 5,000 meters. Ferrari clocked a new school record and personal best time of 14:22.21 to secure a spot on the podium and score points for Mount Marty on the national stage.
Sophomore Jonathan Van Lien also represented the Lancers well in the men's heptathlon, finishing 10th overall with 4,884 points. Van Lien recorded solid marks across the seven-event competition, including a personal best in the 1,000 meters (2:40.69) to close the meet.
Mount Marty's men's 4x400-meter relay team — Zavio Prato, Samuel Favaretto, Jet Janvrin, and Bastien Furstoss — competed in the preliminary round and posted a season best time of 3:17.64.
On the women's side, junior Mya Zohner narrowly missed the podium in the pole vault, finishing ninth with a clearance of 3.65 meters. Teammate Paige Clausen also competed in the event and placed 18th with a mark of 3.55 meters.
Mount Marty also competed in several track events, including the women's 200 meters and 600 meters. Zelie Sorensen ran 25.61 in the 200-meter preliminaries, while Josey Wahlstrom recorded a new school record and personal best of 1:35.94 in the 600 meters.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Sorensen, Alexis Even, Whitney Wollberg, and Wahlstrom finished the preliminary round in 3:54.95 which is the second fastest time in MMU history.
The Lancers conclude the indoor season with an All-America performance and multiple athletes gaining valuable national championship experience as the program prepares for the upcoming outdoor track and field season.
