Mount Marty Names Alicia Lopez as Assistant Softball Coach
Yankton, SD — [7/17/26] — Mount Marty University Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Alicia Lopez as the new Assistant Softball Coach. Lopez joins the Lancer coaching staff bringing a wealth of elite collegiate playing experience, a strong background in player development, and a passion for character-driven leadership.
Lopez makes the transition to Mount Marty after serving as an assistant softball coach at her alma mater, Tabor College. Prior to stepping into the coaching ranks, Lopez enjoyed a stellar playing career on the dirt for the Bluejays. A standout third baseman, she was a three-time Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) All-Conference performer.
Lopez brings a strong commitment to leadership and academic integrity. Her standout career at Tabor College includes being recognized as an NFCA Academic All-American Scholar-Athlete and a member of the KCAC Academic Team. Originally from Eastvale, California, she holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management and Accounting and is completing her Master's in Sports Management and Leadership.Â
In her new role with the Lancers, Lopez will work directly with the infielders, assist with the team's offensive approach, and heavily impact the program's recruiting effort and help lead the junior varsity team.Â
