Mount Marty Names Nicole Flynn as Assistant Track and Field Coach

Yankton, SD — [7/18/26] — Mount Marty University Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Nicole Flynn as the Assistant Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach. Flynn returns to Yankton to lead the Lancer throwing program, bringing the pedigree of conference-championship success and direct familiarity with the institution's athletic community.

Flynn began her collegiate journey as a student-athlete at Mount Marty before transferring to the Division II level at the University of Sioux Falls (USF). During her stellar competitive tenure with the Cougars, she established herself as one of the premier throwers in the region, capturing an Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Championship in the shot put and earning recognition as the 2025 Indoor Field Most Valuable Performer (MVP).

Beyond her individual championship accolades, Flynn brings a relentless energy to her new coaching role. Her perspective as a former Lancer and Division II conference champion gives her a deep understanding of the dedication required to build a championship culture.

"Nicole understands the foundation of our Mount Marty community and knows exactly what it takes to perform at a championship level.  She is extremely motivated and looks forward to mentoring our student-athletes to success both in the ring and in the classroom."
