A record header in six events at his gradation, Hoffman is still the career record holder in the steeplechase, 10,000 meter run, the marathon, and as the anchor leg in the distance medley relay.  The 2002 graduate was an All-American in the marathon in 2001, finishing 6th in the national meet, and was the first four-time national qualifier in the event. Hoffman is on the top 10 career charts in four other track events. He was named the Lancer cross country and the track athlete of the year in his junior and senior seasons.
