Laurie was one of the mainstays on the early Lancer softball teams. The four year starter (1974-1978) was the first windmill pitcher for the Lancers and on the teams that never experienced a losing season. The team finished 3rd in the SDAIAW Tournament each year, and during this period she was named to the All-Conference Honor Squad. When Laurie graduated, she owned at least 10 school records, including every strike out record – game, season, and career. She also had the record for most wins in a season and a career.
