A tremendous two sport star for the Lancers in baseball and basketball he played and started in 285 contests during his career (1992-1996) –an unofficial record for any Lancer athlete. Jason senior season saw the Lancers win South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference Championships in both baseball and basketball. He is among the top 4 in Lancer history in 9 of the 13 career statistical categories, which includes the record for runs scored. Jason was named to the NAIA All South Dakota Team, NAIA All-Region Team, and All-Conference. In 1995 he was named the NAIA Midwest Region Player of the Year. In basketball, he is on the Lancer top 10 career charts in six categories, which would include scoring 1255 points.
