Known mostly for his pitching during his career (1991-1993) in which he set records innings pitched and strike outs, Kelly was also tough facing pitchers as well, leading the team in RBI’s over the two years. During his seasons, the Lancers won 50 games, including a record 31 victories in 1993. Kelly was named to the NAIA All-District Honor Squad both years. Kelly stayed at Mount Marty as a coach after graduation, first as an assistant until becoming the head coach in 2000. He was named GPAC Baseball Coach of the Year his final season with the Lancers in 2004.
