One of the greatest hitters in Lancer history, Nelson is the career record holder for batting average and home runs, and that is with just three seasons of playing. His batting average was .40 points higher than the second highest. At the time of his graduation (1999), he was in the top six for career runs, and three other top five single season marks. He was named 1st Team All-Conference (SDIC) all three season he played, and was part of four conference season and tournament championships.Â
